The Kershaw Stag, Model 2040, was the second to biggest lockback in Kershaw's "Easy Rider" Series which was mostly offered in the 1970s and 1980s.
Follows is an "Easy Rider" write-up copied from an old Kershaw catalog:
The Easy Rider™ heavy duty knives carry comfortably in trousers pocket for every day use. There are no sharp corners to wear through your clothes. Incorporating lightweight and streamlined design with big and brawny blades, the thin stainless steel cases are detailed with handsome rosewood inlays.
The Kershaw knife "Stag" has a nice brushed stainless case with a rosewood inlay. The AUS 6, high carbon stainless steel blade, is hollow ground and mirror finished. The inside of the stainless case is also mirror polished to keep corrosion at a minimum (a practice seldom done any more). The blade opens smoothly, locks tight and snaps shut. This is a very well made knife.
