Custom Roger (Mudbone) Jones Knife "Camp and Trail Set". Beautiful handle consists of two pieces of genuine India stag, with a really nice genuine white-tail antler crown, and three large black canvas micarta spacers. Hand forged and satin finished 5160 high carbon tool steel full tang hatchet stamped "R. JONES HANDMADE" on both sides. The haft is reminiscent of the old Morseth's style handle. Nickel silver double guard is stimpled on the top. File steel solid clip point hunter with lanyard hole and leather lanyard with genuine stag bead. This was hand forged from an antique mil bastard file. Comes with hand tooled and stitched Mudbone Jones wallet style leather sheath with the knife sheath permanently attached to the back. Excellent camping and hunting set.

Custom Roger (Mudbone) Jones Knife "The Buffalo Trail Skinner #1". The Buffalo Trail series named after the traditional indian trade route that runs along 50 miles of ole mudbone's trap lines. The buffalo trail ran from the Pickaway plains north of Circleville to Jackson county near the Ohio River. These here have the flavor of the old buffalo skinners of days gone by. Mudbone used a semi-circular rasp cut in half for the material used for these knives. Unbelievably high alloy - had to go thru several thermal cycles to get the proper hardness and man these are cutters. The semi circular teeth cuts of the rasp when hot-forged down made a great gripping surface for the handles and a nice overall texture for the look of the knife. For the sheaths Mudbone used an old period style incized decoration, cut the diamond pattern with a swivel knife and a straight-edge, inter-connected the points with the leather dye punch. Leather lanyards with stag beads. Quite simply the perfect skinner.

Another dandy knife by Ol' Mudbone. This "Small Hunter Fighter" has a hand forged southwest clip point blade of 1095 carbon steel with clay temper and really nice hamon line. Guard is brass. Handle has beautiful gnarley whitetail crown stag pommel with stacked leather and brass spacers. Extra nice hand tooled, fit and sewn scabbard. Real nice knife.

Another dandy knife by Ol' Mudbone. This small Scagel Style Southwest clip point damascus blade of 1084 & 15N20 tool steel, in a random pattern, further brought out by hand sanding with 2000 grit wet & dry paper. Guard is brass hand fit and soldered on. Handle has beautiful gnarley whitetail stag pommel with stacked leather and brass spacers. Extra nice Pouch has hand carved Oak & Acorn with hand painted back ground, then wet formed to knife.
