Another dandy knife by Ol' Mudbone. This "Small Hunter Caper" has a hand forged antique file C14 carbon steel semi skinner blade. Brass Guard. Handle is a complex stack of brass, copper, micarta and walnut with a stag pommel. Extra nice hand tooled, fit and sewn scabbard with hand tooled border. Real sweetheart of a little knife. One of my favorites by Mudbone.

Another dandy knife by Ol' Mudbone. This "Full Tang Semi Skinner" has a forged C-6 nickel alloy tool steel skinner blade. Handle has Mudbone's own lifted handle design of whitetail deer stag. Brass handle pins. Knife is hand signed by Mudbone and dated 2009. Extra nice hand tooled, fit and sewn scabbard with hand tooled border.

Another dandy knife by Ol' Mudbone. This "Small Hunter Fighter" has a hand forged southwest clip point blade of 1095 carbon steel with clay temper and really nice hamon line. Guard is brass. Handle has beautiful gnarley whitetail crown stag pommel with stacked leather and brass spacers. Extra nice hand tooled, fit and sewn scabbard. Real nice knife.

Another dandy little knife by Ol' Mudbone. This "Miniature D Guard Bowie" is forged from a small file to a clip point shape. Hilt is forged from mild steel. Handle is curly maple with double silver rivets on the end. Beautiful hand made scabbard is set to wear as a necklace. This is really cool Rog said "hard as hell to make and get it right".

Early work by Roger, at the time he was making Japanese style Tanto's with nice wood and brass furniture, that a regular fellow could afford. Something real good looking for a fellow to display that was not made of stamped parts, castings and plastic. Yet did not cost $1500-$4000 like other custom pieces.
Blade is quality forged 5160 steel. Brass Collar sweated in true hand-worked Habaki Japanese fashion. Seppu is also brass (Separates handle and scabbard). Handle and Scabbard is American Black Walnut, felled, sawn and cured by "Mudbone" himself. Piece was split in half and carved out with his own hand forged chisels - made just for the job. Blade is chisel signed on tang.
Roger's way of marking all Japanese style work is with the Great Blue Heron, this one a hand-made nickel silver crest, easily identifies this as Roger's work. A Beautiful Tanto, done the old fashion way, Roger 'Mudbone" Jones - American Style.

Another dandy knife by Ol' Mudbone. This small Skinner with damascus blade of 1084 & 15N20 tool steel, in a random pattern, further brought out by hand sanding with 2000 grit wet & dry paper. Guard is brass hand fit and soldered on. Pommel is genuine india stag with brass cap. Handle leather with copper spacers. Accented little holster with hand tooled border & Ed Fowler style slanted saddle stitch- notice rope like instead of straight line stitch, Rog say's "pain in the ass to do, but it really looks nice".

Cool Historical reproduction all done by Roger strictly traditional, No Power Tools used. Not just a show piece, it is quenched and drawn to perfection just like his finely finished hunters. Blade was acid etched and cold blued for aged patina. Handle is wrapped in Mudbone's handmade Rawhide. Forged thong holder with leather thong. Sheath is Plains Indian styling. Main body of holster is vegetable tanned leather with elk hide - laminated, sewn, and fringed. Hand painted design influenced by the Lakota culture (Buffalo Hunt).

Roger's version of a Scagel trailing point hunter. Clay coat quench, 1 soft back draw and 2 oven draws. Nice temper line. Copper guard. Stacked leather with 2 aluminum spacers and one nickel silver spacer includes beautiful crown stag, makes one fine looking handle. Scagel style double billet holster, is hand made by Roger also. Old Mudbone Jones does it all with timeless Style.
