Spyderco knives "Pearl and Abalone Kopa" a refined gentlemens folder, a first for Spyderco. The Kopa has a stainless handle and is individually fit with exotic Mother of Pearl with Abalone stripe inlays. All Kopas have stainless handles engineered for the human hand. Finger choils position the hand in contact with expansion points on the handle's underside generating precision over the cutting edge. Leaf-shaped blades are VG-10 and flat-ground with a thin, shaving sharp performance cutting edge. The back-lock is positioned mid-way on the spine with a David Boye cutout for added security. Kopas carry right-handed, tip-down with a silhouette steel pocket clip that is removable.

Discontinued Spyderco knife "Spur" was very popular with its diminutive size making it comfortable to handle and use, but having a stainless handle adds enough weight to give it some substance. The blade is a short thick, piece of VG-10 that's hollow-ground. Technically called a drop-point, the blade's belly is modified, (curving outward a little closer to the tip than a traditional drop-point) then meeting the tip, coming together to a sturdy point. Inset with slip-stopping gray Kraton, its handle is capped with a backlock with the David Boye Dent. A real low-rider, it attaches deeply in the pocket with a tip-down metal clip.

The Karambit's claw-shaped blade originated in Indonesia initially for agricultural and protective use and has become a popular mainstream design. Custom knifemaker Warren Thomas has collaborated on this model with Spyderco.

The Thomas/Spyderco folding Karambit is all-stainless with an arcing blade shape that carries through into a curved handle creating, in a sense, a large claw. Positioned at the end, for an index or pinky finger, the ring lets you swing/rotate the blade into different grip positions. When closed, an accessible nick/recess in the steel handle channels the thumb to, and then over, the Spyderco Round Hole for immediate blade deployment. To facilitate opening the blade even quicker, the hole is expanded to 13mm in diameter. On the backside, the handle scale is laser cut into a Chris Reeve Style integral Linerlock.

The blade is made from VG-10 and double flat-ground with a finger guard behind the cutting edge and a sizeable thumb-positioning spine cusp above the hole. These ergonomics merge making the piece feel comfortably curved and easily controlled in the hand. A flat, broad steel clip completes the package and is outfitted with the necessary hardware to position for tip-up/tip-down and left- or right-hand carry

The SpyKer appears to be a Kershaw while equally resembling a Spyderco. Kershaw's chief designer and prominent knifemaker Ken Onion is responsible for the pleasingly curved shape while Spyderco's Sal Glesser adds the Spyderco Round Hole and expected ergonomics. The CPMS30V steel blade is hollow-ground with a spine swedge, from midway along the cutting surface. Spyderco's Round Hole, a mark of quality in the industry, is lined up with two smaller holes of descending size. The three holes grouped by size are a design feature associated with Kershaw symbolizing their quality and craftsmanship. Precision-machined G-10 handles are inlayed with silver carbon-fiber twill and assembled with an adjustable pivot pin and phosphor bronze bushings. Set behind the cutting edge, a finger choil optimally positions the hand for advanced control. A black steel pocket clip carries the knife tip-down in a pocket. 3000 piece limited production run Spyderco- Kershaw collaboration.

A big myth in the knife world is that out there somewhere is a knife that seriously cuts but cannot rust. Knives claiming these super powers are usually made with steels that are unable to hold a cutting edge for any measurable amount of time. Finally a steel foundry in Japan called Myodo Foundry makes this myth a reality with the introduction of a new steel called H1. H1 steel is a PH steel, meaning it is a precipitation-hardened steel. \"Huh\" you ask? Utilizing .1% nitrogen instead of carbon to harden the steel, it reaches a Rockwell hardness of 57-58rc. Spyderco uses H1 on its new Pacific Salt model.
