Spyderco Knife Fixed Blade "Bill Moran" Upswept Blade Spyderco knife "Bill Moran" with an upswept blade. Bill Moran is recognized as the grandfather of American custom knife making and the founding father of the American Blade smith Society. He started pounding steel, making knives more than fifty years ago. If you're lucky enough to find a custom-made Moran to buy, expect to shell out five-figures, minimum. His work and designs are that revered. Spyderco is privileged to offer a production fixed-blade collaboration patterned in Bill Moran's ageless tradition. The blade is flat-ground VG-10 and carry's Bill's signature. They are tapered, starting thick where the blade joins the handle, thinning down the spine to a fine, uniformly ground tip. In the hand, the knife conveys a unique feeling of balance, called by some a sweet spot. The sweet spot is due to the blade and handle being comparable in weight. This balance transfers into a feeling of steady control over the cutting edge. The FRN handle three-dimensionally fills out the palm and is inlayed with a panel of non-sliding Kraton on both sides and on top for your thumb. Highly recommended for hunting and camping comes in a molded kydex belt sheath with multi-position tek-lok fastening system. Knife "Scorpius" Lock-back Made in Seki Japan Order #SC87S (Serrated) #SC87P (Plain) Spyderco Knife "Scorpius" was designed under the premise: form follows function- not looks, which offers explanation for its distinctive appearance. Spyderco's Eric Glesser blueprinted it as an urban tactical utility knife. For city carry he felt it had to be ergonomically refined and sized so it wouldn't generate adverse reaction or legal issues when taken out and used in public. He also felt the knife should be uncommonly comfortable in the hand and effectively cut anything put to it. The wavy contours covering the handle, position the index and middle fingers in such a way they eliminate forward or backward slipping. Narrowing to a tail, the end of the handle makes an effective tool for impact purposes or as a non-lethal control devise. Pre-tapped screw-holes let you attach the knife's custom-designed clip, positioning tip-up or tip-down in the pocket. The blade is a hybrid combination of an upswept and clip-point profile. Its three inches long, hollow-ground and made of VG-10 steel. Ground from the top of the blade is a false-edge swedge that removes unnecessary weight from the folder and gives it a streamlined appearance. Drilled to 14mm in diameter the Spyderco Round Hole is suitably sized for opening with large or gloved hands. Has a easy to operate David Boye dent lock back.
